Isn't a lot of this information available in the internet?
Although there is a lot of information on the internet, a lot of it is not good advice and often comes from people with questionable experience. If you are new to cannabis growing it can be hard to know where to start and even harder to know who you can trust. Couple that with the amount of bad information that you will need to ‘weed’ (sorry about the pun) through and it can be overwhelming. In the CMM course, all of the information that you need is in one place and available for you to go through in a step by step fashion. It is easy to understand, clear and concise and each lesson builds on that of the previous one.
What if I am a medical patient and cannot afford the cost of this course?
We are open to arranging a payment plan option if that makes it easier for people who cannot afford the full price of the course up front. With that said, if you still cannot afford the price of the course, we will work with individuals on a case to case basis. All that we ask is that you show us proof that you have a medical prescription and we will do our best to work something out.
Will I be alone taking this course?
No, you will have a community of like-minded people who meet once a week. If you cannot meet at the desired times, you are welcome to send questions to us ahead of time and then you will get a link to the recording of the meeting. You are welcome to watch the course videos at your own leisure and will have access to them indefinitely. You will have unlimited email support during the 6 week course as well as weekly zoom meetings where there will be live lectures as well as Q & A sessions. It is these live meetings where you can have all of your questions answered as well as grow and learn with a community of like minded medicine makers. This is one of our (and our students) favorite parts about these course. Having a community of people to work through the course with and a chance to see what others are doing, how their plants are growing and collectively learn from all of our experiences.
Can I upgrade from the Basic course to the Hand-on Course?
We recommend that you register for the Hands On course to start with if possible. There may be an option to upgrade to the Hands On Course from the basic course, but we cannot guarantee this. We only have a handful of spaces and once they are gone, there will not be any more spaces available.
What about the community of Medicine Makers?
Throughout the 6 week course (and beyond), there is a real community that forms between all of the people participating in our online courses. We are meeting every week online where we can see each others faces and share our experiences not only through our stories, but also through photos and videos. Everyone will have a chance each meeting to update the group on what they are experiencing and learning as well as ask questions to the group. The community of medicine makers and the collective experiences of the group is an invaluable asset to all participants.
You are also welcome to use the forum in the members area as well as our special members only group to communicate with fellow students.
What if I do not live in Ontario or Canada for that matter?
No problem. It does not matter where you live as long as you have access to a computer and the internet. From coast to coast to coast and across the ocean, we have you covered. We look forward to having people in this program from around the world.
What about the laws in my area?
We recommend that you research what the laws are in your specific province or state in relation to working with cannabis. Many areas across North America have legalized cannabis for recreational purposes and others provide access to medical cannabis. Look into your local and state/provincial and federal laws and proceed accordingly.
Why is this program offered as an online program?
We decided to offer it as an online program because this is a way that we can reach more people and also have people join us from all over Canada, the US and beyond. It also enables us to keep the price lower than if we were to run it in person. And we find that running it online is a great way to have people make their own medicines at home and then work through the lessons while also checking in with the community. We also see great value in having all the lessons online in video format for people to refer to on their phones, tablets or personal computers.
Do I have to actually make medicine and work with cannabis while taking the course?
No, although that is a huge part of the course, you do not need to. You may decide that you wish to learn this information first, take part in the course and then decide if you want to put the information to use in your own life. This is your choice, you are welcome to join us regardless.
Why is it called a Pilot Course?
It is called a Pilot course because we are still developing the course and are not ready to release it on a large scale across North America. This year (2021), is the first time that we are running this course and we are really looking forward to running it. There are still parts of the course that we are working on and a few video lessons that we have to shoot, edit and upload to the course site. After this year, we plan to finalize the video lessons, make some edits and changes to the course and have it ready to launch in a bigger way. As a pilot, we are asking for feedback from our students so that we can make the course even better. This is an exciting time to take part in the development of this course. And please know that you will have lifetime access to the material, including updates, bonus and extra content that will get added each year (future students may not have this added perk). And there is also a chance that we may need to raise the price in the future as well.
